 Parcel Tax Fund

 

Measure H parcel tax expired in the 2015-16 tax year. The annual exemption forms were due June 15, 2015. This special tax money is used directly by the Union School District to support and protect excellence in core academic programs such as reading, writing, math and science; retain qualified and experienced teachers; keep schools safe; provide classroom materials and computer learning technology for students; help maintain small class sizes; protect local schools from ongoing State cuts to education by providing for independent oversight and annual financial audits of revenues and expenditures, thus helping to ensure accountability and that all funds are used to support education with no funds used for administrators’ salaries.

Measure B parcel tax is the continuation of the Measure H parcel tax that provides funding for our local schools and was passed on November 3, 2015. The exemption process and applications are similar to the those of Measure H. In addition to the exemptions for homeowners who qualify under the categories of Seniors, Contiguous Parcels and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), there is also an exemption for those homeowners who qualify under Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).

MEASURE B PARCEL TAX EXEMPTION APPLICATION PERIOD: April 1, 2016 through June 15, 2016.

Each parcel is taxed $96 per year.
