Instructions for Accessing and Using the Parent/Student Portal

Powerschool Portal is now open on a pilot basis to a select group of Middle School teachers. If your student is in one of those classes you would have received a letter from your child's teacher.

Web address: http://powerschool.unionsd.org
UserID: enter the userid given to you by the school
Password: enter the password given to you by the school

Classes, teachers, attendance and grades are displayed for each quarter.

Note: you can click on any blue colored text or numbers.
ParentView

  1. Click on a grade to see the assignments that resulted in that grade. Two dashes in an assignment score usually means the assignment can still be turned in. For example, --/20 means the assignment is worth a total of 20 points and has not yet been entered in the gradebook by the teacher.
  2. Click on an absence or tardy number to see the dates for those absences or tardies.
  3. Click on a teacher name to compose an email to that teacher.

Powerschool Screen Icons Legend:

Attendance Button Grades and Attendance is the 'home' page for the Parent/Student Portal. Classes, teachers, attendance and grades are displayed.
Grades History Button Displays grades for previous quarters.
Attendance History Button

Displays attendance for the current quarter.
Email Notification Button Click to request scheduled emails of your student’s grades, assignments and attendance. Select the type of information you wish to receive and select the frequency. You can request that an email be sent to you immediately. Note that this option is not available to students.
Teacher Comments Button Displays current comments for each class.
Balance Button Lists current fees and payments. Note PowerSchool cannot display the current district (NutriKids) lunch fees.
Logout Button Exits the Parent/Student Portal.
