Bay Area Power Outages
High winds have resulted in power outages across the Bay Area, including in our area. Union Middle School and the District Office building are currently experiencing a power outage, and internet connectivity is currently not available at all District campuses. We are in contact with PG&E, but there is currently no estimated time for when power will be restored.
Please be assured (and assure your student) that there will be no grade or attendance consequences for students when they cannot access distance learning because of a power outage. Please keep in mind, our teachers and staff may also be experiencing limited connectivity during the outage. Your school site will communicate with you in the event staff are unable to connect due to power outage issues and when they are back online and available to work with students.
Programs and classes currently operating on school campuses remain open. However, we recommend that students who are participating in our Distance Learning Support Centers work from home today as we do not have network access at our schools. School administrators are in communication with families with updated information.
If you have any questions, please contact your principal or site administrator. Thank you for your patience as we work through these technical issues.
