Union School District is looking for a new superintendent to join us before the 2021-2022 school year begins in order to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. Our current superintendent, Denise Coleman, has announced her retirement at the end of this school year after a long and successful career.
Our Board of Trustees is working now with executive search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates to find the next superintendent for the Union School District. If you are interested in this position, please visit the HYA website posting to apply: https://hyasearch.com/job/superintendent-san-jose-ca-2021/
The Board is seeking public input at this time to help determine the preferred qualities in candidates for the position. There are two ways you can provide your input to the Board:
Superintendent Search Survey
This survey is designed to gather your perceptions of the school district and the characteristics and attributes you would like to see in the next superintendent. This information will be used to inform the selection of the next leader of the district. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Public Focus Groups
The search firm is hosting several focus groups with District stakeholders to gather input on the desired characteristics of the next superintendent. These stakeholders include District administrators and staff, parents and community members. Information regarding participation in these groups will be announced on the District’s and schools’ websites.
