Elementary families will receive their class/teacher assignment via email/ParentSquare at 4 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024. Middle school families, please review information from your principal on how students receive their specific class schedule.
As always, the staff at your school site is ready to make your students’ first day of school go smoothly, so they will be there to help if you’re not sure where to go on the first day.
It is critical that your school has up-to-date contact information for parents/guardians as a means to stay connected regarding your child/student. Before the start of school, families will receive an Emergency Contact Data Update email to complete as soon as possible to confirm your information is correct and up-to-date. If your phone number or email changes during the year, please contact your school as they can update that information on the student information system to ensure we have the most accurate information to stay connected.
Before school starts, parent/guardian contacts will receive an email to electronically review as well as update your emergency contact information. Please make sure to review the Annual Parents’ Rights prior to the first day of school.
Each year, USD publishes an informative booklet regarding parent/guardians rights and responsibilities as it relates to state/federal laws and education code. Before school starts, parent/guardian contacts will receive an email to electronically review as well as update your emergency contact information. Please make sure to review the Annual Parents’ Rights prior to the first day of school.
Union School District uses ParentSquare for District and school communication. An account is automatically generated for each parent/guardian, using contact information in PowerSchool so that you can get important, urgent, and emergency communications.
Use your phone number or email address on file with the school to register your account today.
While not required to receive messages, we encourage families to register their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences or customize on when and how they are notified. (If not registered, guardian contacts will still receive all default notifications from their school and the District.)
For the 2024-25 school year, all meals are complimentary and are available to all students as part of the California Universal School Meals program. Payment for a school breakfast or lunch is not required when a student picks up breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria.
Visit Nutrislice to view school breakfast and lunch menus.
If you have any questions about Nutrition Services and breakfast and lunch at school, you can contact the food services department by calling (408) 377-8010 Extension 44203.
Each year, schools share recommended supply lists for your child’s classroom. We appreciate your generous donations, however, please note they are not required for your child to attend school. All students will receive supplies to help them be successful throughout the year. Middle School needs will be communicated via principals and teachers.
If anyone - a student, parent, staff person or member of the community - sees something they perceive to be unsafe or something that doesn't seem right, it is critical that they take action and report the situation or incident immediately.
WeTip also serves as a resource for students who experienced or observed school-related bullying, racism, harassment, or other inappropriate behaviors. Once a report is filed, WeTip will contact us with the specifics of the incident, and Student Services will work with the administration, counselors, and other school staff. Learn more.
California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade and all students advancing to 7th grade before entry. View the CA Department of Public Health Parent Resources about required immunizations.

With the advent of the Internet, social media, and 24x7 information access, ensuring our students have the skills to safely and effectively navigate the web in and out of school is a critical component of preparing them for their futures.
