Notice of Public Hearing (Union District Educators Association (UDEA) Reopener Tentative Agreement) | Posted May 23, 2024
Public notice is hereby provided that the Union School District has reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the certificated bargaining unit, the Union District Educators association (UDEA), for the 2022-25 fiscal years.
A public hearing will be held on June 3, 2024 during the Board of Trustees meeting that starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Union School District Board Room located at 5175 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124.
Copies of the proposed agreement and costs of the agreement will be available for inspection by the public beginning May 31, 2024 during the hours of 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Union School District, 5175 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124. Inspection will also be available on the District website at www.unionsd.org.
Comments on the agreement may be made orally to the Board of Trustees at the Board meeting at the above time and location.

As required by Education Codes 42103, 42127, 52061 and 52062, the governing board of Union School District will hold a public hearing to solicit public comment on the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and proposed Budget for the Fiscal Year 2024-25, prior to final adoption. Notice of Public Hearing and of Proposal for Implementing School Facilities Fees as Authorized by Education Code Section 17620 and Government Code 65995 | Posted March 26, 2024
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that immediately following a public hearing on the matter, a proposed resolution will be considered by the Governing Board of Union School District during its regular meeting that begins at 6:00 p.m. on April 15, 2024, which if adopted by the Board of Trustees will implement development fees established by the District against residential construction and reconstruction at $3.62 (70 percent of $5.17) per square foot and against new commercial or industrial construction at $0.59 (70 percent of $0.84) per square foot. Education Code Section 17620 and Government Code Section 65995 authorize the proposed fees. Data pertaining to the cost of school facilities is available for inspection during regular business hours at the District’s administrative offices. The fee, if approved by the Governing Board, will become effective on June 14, 2024, which is 60 days after the proposed adoption of the resolution levying such fee by the Governing Board.

Public Hearing
The Union School District Board of Trustees will conduct a Public Hearing for the Sufficiency of Textbooks and Instructional Materials. Education Code §60119 and AB 831 require that local governing boards hold an annual public hearing and adopt a resolution stating whether all pupils, including English Learners, have or will have, prior to the end of the fiscal year, sufficient textbooks and/or instructional materials that are aligned to the academic content standards adopted pursuant to Education Code 60605 in the core subjects to use in class and to take home consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum frameworks adopted by the state board.
This hearing gives the public an opportunity to comment on the sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials. The public hearing will be held on September 12, 2022 during the Board Meeting that starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Union School District Boardroom located at 5175 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124.

■ Additional Qualifications for Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District: Candidates are also required to file a Nomination Petition with a minimum of 50 valid signatures of registered voters who live within the Ward in which the candidate is to be voted on.
⌘ Additional Qualifications for San Martin County Water District: Must be resident of the district or a property owner in the district. If a landowner, candidate must file a form stating property ownership in the district; an example form can be obtained from the Office of the Registrar of Voters.
