Public notice is hereby provided that the Union School District would like to solicit input from the Public regarding Guadalupe Elementary School Roofing
Project being proposed for submission to the State for funding. The Kindergarten through Grade 12 Schools and Local Community College Public Education Facilities Modernization, Repair, and Safety Bond Act of 2024 (Proposition 2) requires that before a governing board can approve an application project seeking Proposition 2 funds, a public hearing must be held to gather public input on the project being considered for submission.
A public hearing will be held on May 12, 2025 during the Board of Trustees meeting that starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Union School District Board Room located at 5175 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124.
Comments on the agreement may be made orally to the Board of Trustees at the Board meeting at the above time and location.
Union School District announced a vacancy on the Board of Trustees due to the resignation of Douglas Evans effective May 2, 2025. The Board is required to appoint a provisional board member within 60 days. On June 17, 2025 the Board of Trustees held interviews of qualified candidates and selected Aengus Linehan. Mr. Linehan was sworn in and seated at the Board Meeting on June 17, 2025. It is further noticed that unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the office of the county superintendent of schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment. The term of the appointment is through November 2026.
