Parcel Tax

Measure B parcel tax was passed on November 3, 2015 which is the continuation of the Measure H parcel tax and provides funding for our local schools. Measure B was passed by 74.77%. This special tax money is used directly by Union School District to support high academic achievement for Union School District students by protecting strong academic programs like English, reading, writing, math and science; retaining qualified teachers; keeping schools safe; expanding rigorous science, technology, engineering and math programs district-wide and helping maintain smaller class sizes.  Independent oversight and annual financial audits of revenues and expenditures help to ensure accountability and that all funds are used to support education with no funds used for administrators’ salaries.

The exemption process and applications are similar to the those of Measure H. In addition to the exemptions for homeowners who qualify under the categories of Seniors, Contiguous Parcels and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), there is also an exemption for those homeowners who qualify under Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
